Men Steal Cartloads From Darien Store: Cops

One of them was wanted on a DuPage County felony warrant, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:

Retail theft

  • Nelson Pacheco, 48, of Cicero, and JT Cash, 51, of Chicago, were arrested about 12:30 p.m. Monday on charges of felony retail theft and obstructing a police officer. Police said Pacheco and Cash left Aldi grocery store, 2251 75th St., without paying for cartloads of merchandise and driving away in a blue Kia. An officer saw the Kia and prevented it from leaving. Pacheco was released and given a date to appear in court. Cash was wanted on a DuPage County felony warrant and taken to the county jail.
  • A 31-year-old Woodridge woman was arrested about 4 p.m. Saturday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. Police said she was seen not scanning all the items in her cart at the self-checkout counter. She was released and told she would be given a court date.

  • A 32-year-old Burr Ridge man was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Sunday on charges of DUI, no valid driver's license and disobeying a traffic control signal. An officer saw the man running a stoplight at 75th Street and Clarendon Hills Road. He was stopped on 75th near Route 83. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
