New Activities Director At Hinsdale South
Teacher is called an "integral part" of South. He has served in a number of roles.
DARIEN, IL — Hinsdale South High School has a new activities director, Nick Chavarria. According to a news release, he has been an "integral part" of South since coming in 2013 as a social studies teacher.
Before arriving at South, he was a social studies teacher at Rich Central High School in south suburban Olympia Fields. He earned his bachelor's degree in social studies education at Illinois State University and his master's degree in school leadership at Concordia.
He has served as girls head track coach, class sponsor and public address announcer for football, boys basketball and baseball. He also is the new teacher mentor coordinator and president of the Hinsdale High School Teachers Association.

"We are very much looking forward to Nick being an essential member of our Building Leadership Team where he will lead by developing new and innovative ways to help students foster connections with their school, continuing our mission to increase student voice to help define school culture through a racial equity lens, and bringing a strong teacher perspective into the mix of our team," the school said in a news release.
