Pedestrian, 23, Struck By Car In Darien: Police

A 23-year-old woman was struck by a car in Darien early Sunday morning.

DARIEN, IL — A 23-year-old Darien woman was hit by a car early Sunday morning. According to a release, Darien Police responded to North Frontage Road just west of Bailey for the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic crash at 5 a.m. Sunday.

The pedestrian, Emily Houska, 23, of Darien, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment, according to the release. Houska later succumbed to her injuries and passed away. Police said the driver of the vehicle was not injured and is cooperating. No charges have been filed at this time.

According to the release, the Felony Investigation Assistance Team - Major Crash Reconstruction Team was called in to assist. The Darien Police continue to investigate this incident and are asking if anybody has information relating to this crash to contact Detective K. Price at 630-353-8329.
