Racial Slurs Found At Darien Park; Youths Seen Fleeing: Cops
In another case, a man battered a Darien officer who charged him with trespassing, police said.

DARIEN, IL – In recent days, Darien police handled cases involving racial slurs, battery of an officer, trespassing, egging and attempted burglary. Here is information from the latest Darien police reports:
Racial slurs
- About 2 p.m. Tuesday, an officer was called to Darien Community Park, 7100 Clarendon Hills Road. A person told police about seeing racial slurs scrawled on the slides and then spotting four or five youths fleeing.

- Darien police were called about a drunk man shortly after midnight March 17 in the 1000 block of Sean Circle. Officers told the man to leave at the owner's request. The man, a 40-year-old from Willowbrook, refused to leave, so he was charged with criminal trespassing to land. He then made physical contact with an officer. So he was also charged with battery and resisting a police officer. He was given a court date and then released.

- Someone egged a house between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of 67th Street. The damage was to the back of the house, including walls, the deck, the roof and the storm door.
Attempted burglary
- Someone attempted to break into a car March 13 in the 1100 block of Hinswood Drive. Marks were found on the driver's side window.
