Weekend Wins For Hinsdale South

Dancers, bowlers, wrestlers, chess players and speech team members among victors.

DARIEN, IL — It was another weekend of successes for Hinsdale South High School, according to a school district news release. The members of the danceline team from South dominated at the Illinois Drill Team Association state finals Saturday. They took home the AAA High Point championship and earned first place in AAA Pom Dance and AAA Kick at the varsity level. They also came in first in the junior varsity Pom Dance category.

Meanwhile, the speech team from Hinsdale South set another school record by qualifying for state in 10 individual events and took first place in four categories.

The varsity girls bowling team from Hinsdale South is headed to state after finishing in fourth place at the sectional tournament. The Hornets were led by senior Jaultiana Brown, who took third place overall.

South wrestlers Glen Hogan and Oscar Choi are headed to the state finals after finishing in third and fourth place, respectively, in their weight classes.

Meanwhile, the South chess team finished with a record of 4-3 during the state finals over the weekend and earned a pair of individual silver medals.
