After speaking with a banker, the victim went to her car, but could not find her phone, police said. She went back in, thinking she left it on the counter. But nothing was found.

The woman said that while she was originally in the bank, she noticed two men behind her and believed one of them may have stolen her phone, according to the report.

The woman requested the teller review the footage, but the employee was unable to access it at the Darien location, police said.

The victim was directed to the bank's sister, Community Bank of Willowbrook. There, a manager reviewed the footage, but declined to provide the customer with any information, saying it would only be released to Darien police, authorities said.

The woman told police that she would like to pursue the matter because her phone contained personal information about her family. Police said they provided her with an identity theft packet and advised her to contact credit reporting agencies.
