DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Police are searching for a 23-year-old man after DeKalb County officers say he shot at his mother and then eluded law enforcement officers when they arrived on scene.

Andrew Economou is being sought on an aggravated assault charge after police said he fired a gun at his mother while leaving the house in a vehicle. The mother was not injured in the incident, which reportedly started as a domestic call between a mother and her son on Saturday, according to a DeKalb County police spokeswoman.

According to police, offices believed Economou had barricaded himself inside the home and that a SWAT team was called to the scene that is close to Covent Way and Panola Road. After arriving on scene and waiting for Economou to emerge from the house, officers determined he had fled the scene. As of Tuesday, his location is not known.
