Eligibility: Players must be eligible to attend either Deerfield School District 109 or Bannockburn School District 106 or reside in the “option area” of Highland Park as designated by High School District 113 (i.e. west of Route 41). We do allow girls from other communities to tryout and they will be placed on teams if there is room for them provided they are not taking a spot from a Deerfield travel caliber player.

Player age requirements:

10U: 2005 & later (2005, 2006…)
12U: 2003 & 2004
14U: 2001 & 2002
Other information:

Deposit: A deposit of $50.00 is required in order for players to try out for travel softball. For players rostered on any travel team, this deposit is nonrefundable and the entire amount will be credited toward travel fees (Fees for 2016 are TBD. 2015 fees were $850 for 10U White and $950 for 10U Red, 12U, and 14U). For players not rostered on a travel team, this deposit will be refunded in full.

Commitment:

By trying out for a DYBA travel team, players are committing to participating on any travel team to which they are selected. If a player withdraws from a travel team after being selected, she will forfeit her deposit and not be allowed to take part in the next set of travel tryouts for the following season. In effect, she will miss two (2) travel seasons before she can try out for a DYBA travel team again. Players can appeal to the DYBA Board of Directors to be considered for early reinstatement. All TRAVEL FAMILIES MUST COMMIT to volunteering for at least 4 hours of volunteer time during the DYBA Softball Tournament. Failure to volunteer will result in diminished playing time or benching of the travel player.
