DEERFIELD, IL — Following a rash of early morning burglaries in the downtown area and Lake Cook corridor last Friday, Deerfield police are saying the crimes follow the same pattern as those occurring in other North Shore communities. According to police, the burglars spend a brief amount of time inside the business and appear to be searching for cash.

The businesses impacted by these burglaries were located in the following areas:

  • 3 locations in the 700-800 block of Waukegan Road
  • 2 locations in the 600 block of Deerfield Road
  • 4 locations in the 400-700 block of Lake Cook Road

Deerfield police are working together with other jurisdictions on this investigation. Earlier this month in Highland Park, a group of five people tore through nine Highland Park businesses in the span of 30 minutes. Patch reported on March 10 that in each incident, a group of five suspects traveling in a single vehicle broke through the front door or window of the business. Inside, the suspects spent about 30 seconds to one minute searching for cash before moving on, police said.
