Baxter Expected to Layoff 1,400
Cuts could come worldwide despite recent financial numbers that were better than predicted.

Despite a reported third-quarter profit of $1 million, Deerfield-based Baxter International Inc. is expected to slash about 1,400 jobs worldwide, according to Associated Press reports.
Baxter beat Wall Street forecasts by posting revenue of $2.49 billion during July, August and September. Per-share earnings for the fourth quarter concluding in December are predicted to range between 30 cents and 32 cents.
