Baxter Spinoff to Employ 800 in Bannockburn

A spinoff company of Deerfield-based Baxter International will employ about 800 at the Bannockburn Centre at 1200 Lakeside Drive in Bannockburn, Chicago Real Estate Daily reports.

Baxalta, the pharmaceutical spinoff, will establish headquarters at the 257,191 square-foot building with a lease that is for more than 10 years.

More than 800 employees will work in the headquarters, with most moving in by the end of this year.

“Selecting Baxalta’s global headquarters is a key milestone on our journey to becoming a leading, independent biopharmaceutical company, and reaffirms our commitment to Northern Illinois and our strong employee base here,” Baxter spokeswoman Kellie Hotz said.
