Cheapest Renters Insurance in Chicagoland is in Deerfield: Study

DEERFIELD, IL - When it comes to renters insurance, Deerfield residents have it better than those from any other Chicagoland municipality.

Financial website Value Penguin recently performed a statewide study of renters insurance rates and found that Deerfield had the fourth lowest average. The municipalities of Carmi, Hoopeston and Jerseyville (all far from Chicago) were the only places identified as having cheaper renters insurance rates than Deerfield.

Deerfield rates came in at 10 percent below the state average.

To reach the numbers, Value Penguin “evaluated quotes for a 1,000s of rental property and $100,000 in liability coverage across the state.

“The results showed the locations with the highest rates cost 95% more than the cheapest renters insurance in Illinois.”
