Check Forgery Scheme Leads To Arrest: Riverwoods PD Blotter

RIVERWOODS, IL — The following information comes from the Riverwoods Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. ARRESTS

THEFT

Daniel Nersesov, 21, of the 38100 block of N. State Park Road, Spring Grove, is accused of felony theft, two counts of forgery, and was arrested at 12:35 a.m. Dec. 14, in Fox Lake. Police said the charges stem from an investigation that began last June of a check forgery scheme in which Nersesov reportedly reproduced and altered payroll checks from a Riverwoods business, making them payable to himself, electronically depositing them into his own bank account and a family member's bank account, without authorization from the involved business. He was released and assigned a court date of Dec. 30.

VIOLATION OF AN ORDER OF PROTECTION

Kristina M. Fried, 50, of the 900 block of Waukegan Road, Deerfield, had a warrant for violation of an order of protection that occurred last October, and was arrested at 8:48 p.m. Dec. 17, on Deerfield Road near the eastern limits of the Village of Riverwoods.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

• Tracy Andy Otis, 39, of the 1200 block of Tobin Court, Waukegan, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, following to close, and was arrested at 1:08 a.m. Dec. 18, near Milwaukee Avenue and Chicory Lane. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 23, 2025.
• Corey Eugene Vance, 23, of the 1500 block of N. 31st Avenue, Melrose Place, is accused of speeding, DUI alcohol, and was arrested at 12:18 a.m. Dec. 7, near Lake Cook and Portwine roads. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 9, 2025.
• Sviatoslav Riabchuk, 23, of the 500 block of Manda Lane, Wheeling, is accused of speeding, DUI alcohol, and was arrested at 2:51 a.m. Dec. 7, near Lake Cook and Portwine roads. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 9, 2025.
• Silvestre Bahena Valazqeuz, 37, of the 200 block of 8th Street, Wheeling, is accused of speeding, DUI alcohol, and was arrested at 3:47 a.m. Dec. 8, near Lake Cook and Portwine roads. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 9, 2025.
