Chicago Stars, Brutus Bone Broth Team Up To Help Shelter Pets

A portion of proceeds from Brutus Bone Broth purchases at Jewel-Osco through Nov. 23 will benefit the Evanston Animal Shelter.

RIVERWOODS, IL — Chicago Stars FC and Brutus Bone Broth are teaming up to support the Evanston Animal Shelter through a new partnership that includes a fundraising initiative with Jewel-Osco.

The pet nutrition company will serve as an official club partner through the remainder of 2026, the Stars announced Tuesday.

Through Nov. 23, a portion of proceeds from Brutus Bone Broth products purchased at Jewel-Osco will be donated to the shelter. The announcement did not specify the donation amount or percentage.

The initiative builds on an existing relationship between the Stars and the shelter, which players and club officials selected as one of the team's 2026 Wintrust Player Initiatives.

Supporting Pets And Their Owners

Stars players and staff volunteered last month at the shelter's Pet Pantry, which provides Evanston-area residents with pet food, cat litter and other supplies.

The club described the organization as Evanston's only open-admission, no-kill shelter.

"We're thrilled to welcome Brutus Bone Broth to the Stars family," Sara Arnold, the club's vice president of partnerships, said in the announcement. "Brutus Bone Broth has a demonstrated commitment to helping pets and pet owners through both their products and philanthropy."

Arnold said the partnership will expand the club's community player initiatives while providing additional resources for the team.

Brutus Bone Broth, founded in 2017 by two sisters, produces bone broths, food toppers and treats for pets.

"Partnering with a club that's shaping the future of women’s sports, and doing it in support of the Evanston Animal Shelter, is exactly the kind of team we want to be part of," said Kim Hehir, the company's co-founder and president.

"Every dog and cat deserves a healthy, happy life, and this is our chance to help more of them find one.”"

Stars Building Toward 2027

The partnership comes as Chicago prepares for the 2027 National Women's Soccer League season under new Chief Soccer Officer Vlatko Andonovski.

As Patch previously reported, the Stars acquired Zambia national team forward Racheal Kundananji from Bay FC earlier this month for $700,000 in intra-league transfer funds. She was the club’s first roster addition under Andonovski.

The Stars will continue playing home matches at Northwestern University’s Martin Stadium in Evanston in 2027. The club also plans to open a performance center in Bannockburn that year, providing a hub for team operations, training and recovery.
