CJE SeniorLife Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Celebrate CJE and Honors Jim C. Mills

Nearly 700 attendees joined the organization's 10th major fundraising event, headlined by jazz legend Ramsey Lewis and His Electric Band

CJE SeniorLife brought the house down at their 10th annual fundraising event, Celebrate CJE, a night of celebrating the organization’s more than 40 years of rich history and wide-range of innovative community-based services and programs. The nationally-recognized and progressive health and human services organization serves more than 23,000 older adults and their families in metropolitan Chicago each year. With nearly 700 attendees, the annual dinner and reception, held on Tuesday evening, Oct. 13 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, raised over $700,000 to support its breadth of programs and services.

Evening highlights included remarks from President and CEO Mark D. Weiner and a video presentation, which showcased CJE’s full range of programming, including life enrichment, supportive resources, healthcare, research and education. Longstanding Board member and the first Celebrate CJE Chair, James C. (Jim) Mills of Chicago, was honored at the 10th anniversary celebration. Three-time Grammy winning pianist and jazz legend Ramsey Lewis and His Electric Band capped off the event with a riveting performance.

“This year’s event was a great success,” said Susan Arbeiter Reese of Highland Park, who co-chaired the dinner and program with fellow CJE Board member Kalman Wenig of Riverwoods. “We are grateful to our supporters and all who attended this lively and meaningful event. Everyone’s contributions will make a positive impact on CJE’s supportive services and healthy aging programs to help older adults in our community age with dignity and respect.”
