College Credits: Deerfield Residents Wrestling At UW-W

Deerfield Students Make UW-Whitewater Wrestling Team

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wrestling team begins its 2023-24 season this week with 33 student-athletes on its roster. The Warhawks are coming off a 17th-place showing at last spring's NCAA Division III Championships. Last season, UW-Whitewater tied for second in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, finished fourth at the NCAA Upper Midwest Regional tournament and placed 17th at the NCAA Division III Championships. Three Warhawks qualified for the NCAA Championships, including Jaritt Shinhoster (184 pounds), who became the third wrestler in school history to win back-to-back individual national titles. The Warhawks have finished among the top 25 teams in NCAA Division III in each of the last nine seasons, including a national runner-up finish in 2013-14. The following student-athletes have been named to the roster of the Warhawk wrestling team at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for the 2023-24 season:
