Coronavirus Cases Reported At Deerfield School Camp

The Deerfield Park District announced Friday night the children were campers at Wilmot Elementary School.

DEERFIELD, IL — Two campers at Wilmot Elementary School have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Deerfield Park District. Both children are asymptomatic.

The two sections of the camp where the kids were participating have been shut down for the next 14 days. The remaining sections of camps at Wilmot Elementary School have been deemed safe to reopen Monday as per Lake County Health Department guidance because of the protocols implemented by the park district for the camp location.

The park district said in a statement it will continue to coordinate efforts with the Lake County Health Department and School District 109 to ensure the safety of all participants.
