D-113 Transportation Workers To Get Raises
3-year agreement beginning in June means 32 employees will get slight increases.

The Board of Education of Township High School District 113 approved a three-year salary and benefits agreement with the District’s Transportation Department employees this week. According to a District 113 news release, the three-year agreement covers the 32 employees in the District 113 Transportation Department and follows the five-year agreement that ends in June 2015.
The new three-year agreement calls for the following wage increases for Transportation Department workers over the next three years: 1.54 percent in 2015-16, 1.5 percent in 2016-17, and CPI in 2017-18 (minimum of 1 percent and maximum of 3 percent).
The agreement also calls for the phasing out of two paid holidays for Transportation Department employees over the first two years of the agreement, resulting in overall annual cost increases to the District that are below CPI.

The District and its Transportation Department employees also agreed to offer an annual $1,500 stipend to employees as an incentive to move to their spouse’s health insurance plan, which the District says would result in significant savings for them.
