Deerfield, Arlington Heights Marriott Hotels Sold
The hotels are part of a portfolio of 13 Courtyard by Marriott properties purchased by a Canada-based investment group.

DEERFIELD, IL — The sale of more than a dozen Courtyard by Marriott hotels, including three in Illinois, has been completed, commercial real estate broker Holliday Fenoglio Fowler announced Thursday. The deal includes a combined 1,913 rooms across nine U.S. states.
Courtyard locations in south Arlington Heights, Deerfield and Rockford are all part of the 13-property sale.
Construction on all of the hotels was completed between 1985 and 1989. They include various amenities, including an outdoor or indoor swimming pool, 24-hour business center, on-site bistro, fitness center, meeting space, sundry shop, shuttle service and lobby theater with lounge seating.

The buyer, Skyline Investments, purchased the portfolio unencumbered of the existing management contract. The Canada-based firm also has a new Marriott franchise agreement good for 20 years, according to a news release announcing the deal.

The Holliday Fenoglio Fowler (HFF) investment advisory team representing the seller included senior managing director and head of HFF’s hotel group Daniel C. Peek, managing director John Bourret and director Austin Brooks along with managing director Marty O'Connell, a licensed Kentucky real estate broker, according to the release. Its debt placement team representing the borrower was led by director De’On T. Collins. HFF, which acted by and through Holliday GP Corp., is an Oklahoma licensed real estate broker.
