Chad Coe, CEO and President of Coe Financial Group in Deerfield, Ill., has been announced as one of three national finalists for the Volunteer of the Year Award as part of the tenth annual Invest in Others Community Leadership Awards. Coe is being honored for his work with Special Kids Network, which will receive a $5,000 donation from the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation. There are five award categories for advisors and two for financial services companies.
Invest in Others received hundreds of nominations this year. Individual finalists were selected based on their leadership, dedication, contribution, inspiration, and impact on a non-profit and the community it serves.

Motivated by a nephew who struggles with a condition that impairs verbal expressive communication, Coe founded the Special Kids Network in 1999. Special Kids Network seeks to create community awareness and raise funds in support of organizations who believe that every child and young adult, regardless of the nature of their background or disability, should be able to enjoy life to its fullest and participate in the mainstream of their community. Currently President of the Board of Directors, Coe’s hands-on approach to daily operations and organizational management is noteworthy by all. Coe has recruited over 20 board members and over 75 volunteers. Since the organization’s inception, Special Kids Network has raised more than $4 million dollars for over 10 nonprofits in Chicago that serve children with special needs, including JDRF, Keshet, and the Special Olympics.
“My business is based upon making connections with my clients to ensure an abundant life for them. The Special Kids Network is also based on connecting with donors and the people we help to make their lives better,” said Coe.
