WAUKEGAN, IL — Circuit judges have met and agreed on the finalists for appointment to a vacant seat on the Lake County bench, according to an announcement from the 19th Judicial Circuit of Illinois.

Lisa Dunn, of Deerfield, and Christoper Kennedy, of Libertyville, were named the two candidates for the vacancy created by the retirement of Associate Judge Michael Fusz.

Dunn, a partner at Arlington Heights-based Massucci, Blomquist, Anderson & Dunn, is a former village prosecutor of Wheeling, administrative hearing officer for the Illinois secretary of state and an associate of former Buffalo Grove mayor and 53rd District Republican State Rep. Sid Mathias. She ran his law office while he was away in Springfield before opening her own office in 2005, according to her website.

Votes will be counted in Springfield before 19th Circuit Chief Judge Diane Winter is notified of the results, according to a release from her chambers. The secret result of the elected judges' vote will determine who is appointed to the nearly $200,000-a-year position for a term ending in June 2023.
