Robert G. Merritt, 88, of Deerfield, passed away peacefully at his home November 12, 2015. He served proudly in the Navy during World War II. Beloved husband to the late Barbara “Bobbie”; loving father to Robin (Steven) Meyer; cherished grandfather to Kelsey & Courtney; adored great uncle to Michael North, Cindy (Rod) Boston; great-great uncle to Reese North, Hannah & Hailey Boston. He is preceded in death by his niece Joan North. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015 10:30 am until time of service 12:30 pm at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Road, Highland Park, IL. Interment St. Michael The Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, IL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Robert’s name to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
