Deerfield Obituary: Tim Letten, 22

Tim was a Deerfield High School alum who helped establish the school's Sailing Club.

Timothy Kerber Letten, age 22, beloved son, brother and friend to many was received into heaven December 2, 2015. He is survived by his parents Bruce and Lauretta Letten and brothers Matthew, Michael, and James, his fraternal twin.
Tim was born on April 14th, 1993 and spent his life in Deerfield, IL where he attended Holy Cross School, Shepard Middle School and was a graduate of the Deerfield High School Class of 2011. He was involved in Boy Scouts, Concert Band, where he played the alto sax, and served as a Eucharistic Minister at his church. Tim was a talented swimmer from a young age with his specialty being freestyle. He was both a member of the Deerfield High School varsity swimming and water polo team where his above average height of 6’6” provided him a distinct advantage. Along with a friend, Tim helped establish the Deerfield High School Sailing Club.
Tim was blessed to enjoy the love and support of a large extended family, including his grandparents, Nicholas and Barbara Letten, Geraldine and the late Joseph Reising as well as all of his aunts, uncles, first and second cousins who embraced his selfless, joyful and caring nature.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from 9:30-11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 724 Elder Lane, Deerfield, IL. A Mass of Catholic Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. All are welcome to come and share happy memories of Tim’s life. Tim lived his life as if he was on the open water – without boundaries and ready to be carried by the wind to whatever life had in store for him next.
