Deerfield Woman Traps UPS Driver on Snowy Street

Deidre E. Keller allegedly was mad that driver wouldn't deliver package that weighed more than 400 pounds.

A UPS driver was trapped on a dead-end Deerfield street by an irate woman unhappy with the driver’s decision not to deliver her a 400+ pound package up her driveway, which was covered by three inches of icy snow.

The Deerfield Review reports police received a call on January 12 about a car parked diagonally across the first block of Forestway Drive, blocking traffic.

Deidre E. Keller, 45, of 31 Forestway Drive was arrested shortly after for improper parking on a roadway and a felony count of driving with a revoked license. Police also said she was in possession of a small pocket knife.

Keller is said to have blocked the UPS driver on the street after he refused to deliver the package to the door. Since Forestway is a dead-end, he had to make a turn to leave. But before he could get past her, Keller had blocked him in.

The driver told police she said to him, “You’re not moving” and then called him a derogatory name.
