Deerfield Young Warriors Boys' Basketball
The Young Warriors will host their 10th annual Kick-Off Tournament on January 9th-11th, 2015

The 22nd season of Deerfield Young Warriors, the official feeder program for Deerfield boys’ basketball is currently underway. As Deerfield’s representative in the Northern Illinois Feeder Basketball Association, the Young Warriors are currently fielding 8 teams, consisting of over 70 boys, in both A & B levels, from 5th through 8th grade. While the primary mission is to play other feeder programs that DHS will potentially play, the Young Warriors have a unique schedule that incorporates overnight tournaments in Wisconsin, competitions with Chicago park district teams, as well as, boys and girls clubs in and around the city. This year’s schedule has approximately 30 scheduled games, providing a challenging, yet enjoyable season for the boys and their families.
The objective of feeder basketball is to select the boys with the most potential for competing at the high school level. Of course, the selection process may change somewhat from year to year, however, having athletes working together during their pre-high school years often promotes a synergy that is very productive in building competitive teams. The Young Warrior program not only prepares boys for success in basketball, it also builds character by encompassing all-around values for everyday life. Players with budding basketball talent and aspirations truly benefit by participating in Deerfield’s feeder program, the Young Warriors.
The Young Warriors will host their 10th annual Kick-Off Tournament at the Libertyville Sports Complex, January 9-11. Seventy-six teams have entered this year’s event.
