From Monday June 23rd through Saturday June 28th the DFDC traveled to Grand Junction Michigan for the 1st EVER Great Lakes Cross Country Adventure as schools from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan were all represented with some of the finest character young men and women that are all very goal oriented to becoming better to be the best as they sure as heck did what others won’t or can’t do. The camp was simply a key motivating experience that I truly believe changed our boys in a profound way as they are now different runners and young men than they were before. The Staff at the camp are some of the best in the United States and they demanded the best out of the campers as we had key experiences with the Warner Timed Mile, Kal-Haven Long Run, Warner Switchbacks, GLXC Obstacle Course Challenge, Mount Baldy PPM Challenge (See the stairs below at the END of that TOUGH LPPM), Flashlight Relay, Prediction Runs, Great Lakes Game Day Challenge, Camp Champ 5k (With 3 time Olympian Dathan Ritzenhein!), and the Champion of Champions Run. What an adventure we all had together as the DFDC changed as our Goals have now changed. Lets take these key experiences and show the rest of Deerfield what a GLXC runner has become. GO DFDC in 2015!
