DHS Student Among World's Best in Marketing Management

Deerfield High School senior Benjy Sachs placed in the Top 10 in the World in Marketing Management at the International DECA Career Development conference in Orlando from April 25-28. More than 16,000 high school students competed in a variety of business-related events, which included verbal presentations, written papers and online business simulation competitions.

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. Students can compete in a role play and/or written event. In role plays students are interviewed by judges and also take a content test and an economics test. For written events students put together a report ranging from 11 to 30 pages and present their ideas to a judge.
