DHS Wrestling Dominates Season

The Warriors won 64 of 70 matches over five meets this season.

The Deerfield High School wrestling team brought home their seventh consecutive Central Suburban League (CSL) North conference championship over the weekend, ending the regular season with an unblemished 5-0 mark.

The Warriors won 64 of their 70 matches during the five meets, taking down Maine East (76-6), Highland Park (64-3), Niles North (64-7), Glenbrook North (78-0) and Maine West (66-9).

The CSL Varsity Tournament will take place at Glenbrook South on Saturday, which will determine individual all-conference honors. On Friday, January 30 - the CSL crossover will feature the top two teams in the north (Deerfield and Highland Park) against the top two teams in the south (New Trier and Evanston).

The Warriors’ winning ways this year continued for the team’s younger wrestlers as well. The junior varsity squad was also 5-0 while the freshmen went 4-1.
