District 113 gears up for 2014-15, announces 10-10-10 donation incentive

The District 113 Education Foundation is gearing up for a busy year supporting the District’s educational efforts.

The Foundation supports innovative teacher and staff-initiated programs at Deerfield and Highland Park High Schools for science, math, the arts, languages, general education and culture, as well as at-risk students, which are not otherwise funded by the school district budgets. Grants awarded have supported programs such as Latin Dance, Giants Performing Arts, Robotics, Science Olympiad, Marine Sciences, Beyond Homework, the Spanish and French libraries, interactive whiteboards, Writer’s Week, and many more. The District 113 Education Foundation receives funding from a broad base of businesses, individuals and alumni. The Foundation appreciates any support students, staff, families and community members are able to provide, financial or otherwise, in helping to promote and build the Foundation as it continues to fund unique and innovative educational programs at DHS and HPHS. Anyone making a donation of at least $20 during September or early October will receive a thank-you coupon card for the Foundation’s 10% Off for 10 Days in the 10th Month (10-10-10) campaign, which can be used at many local dining establishments from October 10-20.
