Dold Responds to King v. Burwell Decision

Congressman says Obamacare "continues to drive up premiums and deductibles for millions of families."

U.S. Congressman Robert Dold, R-Kenilworth said Thursday’s Supreme Court decision on Affordable Health Care (King vs. Burwell) “in no way ends Washington’s responsibility to implement the serious, bipartisan reforms” he says are needed to “drive down costs, restore access to care and make healthcare work for everyone.”

Thursday’s ruling, in effect, means that millions of individuals who purchased health insurance through an exchange run by the federal government should be able to keep their policies and premium subsidies - according to the American Family of Family Physicians.

“While I’ve never questioned the good intentions of those who brought us the Affordable Care Act, the partisan process by which it was rushed through Congress produced a law that continues to drive up premiums and deductibles for millions of families while cutting crucial Medicare programs for our seniors,” Dold added.
