Dold Ranked Among Most Bipartisan Members of Congress
More than a quarter of the 10th District Republican's cosponsored bills were sponsored by a Democrat.
Illinois 10th Congressional District Rep. Robert Dold, R-Kenilworth is one of a handful of congressional representatives nationwide to be highlighted as part of a recent study on bipartisanship.
A recent study by the National Journal (pictured) shows Dold as one of the most likely Congressional representatives to sponsor a bipartisan bill. Of the 14 representatives that are expected to face stiff re-election competition in 2016, Dold is one of seven to “frequently” sign on to bipartisan legislation. The study shows that 26.2 percent of the legislation that he has cosponsored since January 2015 was sponsored by a Democrat.
“It’s important for us to work together,” the congressman said. “So much more unites us than divides us, so it is critical to focus on common ground. I never ask someone to jeopardize their values or principles, but we need to come together, roll up our sleeves and find a solution.”

“We had been educating the best and brightest in the world, but then saw them leave for other nations competing with us,” he said. “This shows we want them to stay - and we did it with bipartisan and bicameral support.”
The background check bill is another example of Democrats and Republicans “focusing on areas of agreement,” he says.
In this region, bipartisanship is critical. Dold believes it is in the best interest of our country and the people he represents.
“As I speak to people in the District, some are worrying that they are falling behind and the uncertainty around retirement,” Dold said. “We need to be united behind education and making sure there are opportunities for children here in this increasingly competitive global environment.”
“My focus will always be on what we can do to help taxpaying citizens strive for better lives for their families.”

Dold will seek his second consecutive and third overall term as a U.S. Congressman in the 10th District in 2016. He is expected to face the winner of a Democratic primary between former Rep. Brad Schneider and current Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering.
