Election Filing Deadline Passes: Deerfield Resident Runs
One local resident submitted their intent to run by Monday's deadline, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

DEERFIELD, IL — The primary election in Illinois is just over three months away. The deadline for candidates to file for their intent to run with the Illinois State Board of Elections was Monday. Illinois' primary election is June 28.
According to the ISBE website, just one Deerfield resident has opted to run. Steve Kim, of Deerfield, will face off against David Shestokas, of Orland Park, and Thomas DeVore, of Sorento, in the Republican primary. Incumbent Kwame Raoul, of Chicago, is running unopposed in the Democratic primary.
Kim, an attorney, filed his candidacy papers with ISBE on March 7. He is a managing partner at RKF Global PLLC.
