Ex-Deerfield Pastor Might Not Face Trial in Teen Sex Abuse Case

Prosecutor says Samuel Kee, who is accused of sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl, will be evaluated, and his case could stay out of court.

A former Deerfield pastor accused of sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl in 2014 might not face a criminal trial now, the Pioneer Press reports.

During a hearing Tuesday in Lake County Circuit Court for Samuel Kee, the 39-year-old Lake Zurich man charged with criminal sexual abuse of a minor, Assistant State's Attorney Jason Grindel said Kee was scheduled to have an evaluation and that his case might be resolved without a trial, according to the report.
