STORYTELLING on March 19 at Miramar Bistro POSTPONED
KEEP ON THE WATCH FOR A NEW DATE... ... STORIES ABOUT IRISH MUSIC, OLD DOCTORS AND NEW TRICKS, CASH NEGOTIATIONS, AND AN UNUSUAL AUNT.

Short Story Theatre is postponing its storytelling event on Thursday, MARCH 19TH, 2020, at Miramar Bistr0 in Highwood. New dates will be announced soon.
Storytellers for our future event include:
Jennifer Dotson, founder of Highland Park Poetry, says “Sometimes what you look for and what you find are very different,” which is evident in her story “The Search for Irish Music.”

Highland Parker Lou Greenwald wonders if an older doctor can teach new or few tricks in his story “One Man’s Pain is Another Man’s Humor.”
Ed Zifkin, also of Highland Park, shares a story entitled "Cash" about a visit to the computer store with his daughter.

Michael Ellman, a Wilmette resident and retired University of Chicago rheumatologist making his debut with Short Story Theatre, shares a story about an unusual aunt who came to live with his family when he was growing up. His story: “Aunt Dell.”
Short Story Theatre was founded in 2012 and is dedicated to promoting storytelling as a vibrant, contemporary art form. Co-founder and Producer Donna Lubow says, “Stories are creative non-fiction, based on personal experiences. Our troupe of more than sixty members from Chicago and the northern suburbs melds writing skills and performance skills to entertain and inspire audiences.”

BIOS OF STORYTELLERS:
JENNIFER DOTSON earned her MFA in drama from the University of Virginia and followed the siren song of Chicago's vibrant storefront theater scene shortly after. Since then she has focused her creative energy into poetry. Her second book of poetry, Late Night Talk Show Fantasy & Other Poems, is scheduled for publication this July by Kelsay Books. She is the founder and program coordinator for Highland Park Poetry, now celebrating its 13th year.
LOU GREENWALD, a husband, brother, father and grandfather, has attended numerous storytelling festivals and enjoys telling and listening to stories by people from all walks of life. He recently attended the National Storytelling Festival in Tennessee. He hopes he has learned something about telling stories along the way. Lou: "Stories surround unforgettable moments in one's life."
EDWARD ZIFKIN is happily married to Sue Fieldman, who he says keeps him out of trouble. They have two children, Benjamin and Elena. Ed likes to drink coffee with friends, walk the dog, work on his memoirs and a screenplay, play at golf, and especially hang out with Sue and their kids.
MICHAEL ELLMAN is a retired University of Chicago rheumatologist and writer. His collection of published short stories, Let Me Tell You About Angela, was an Eric Hoffer Award Finalist. He is also the author of a novel: Code-One Dancing.
