Glenview Blades Skate Their Way To First Place

Youth synchronized skate teams range in age from seven to 17.

On Saturday, November 15, 2014, the Glenview Blades, a group of synchronized skating teams based at the Glenview Ice Center, 1851 Landwehr Road, participated in the held on the shores of Lake Andrea in Prairie Springs Park in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.

The Glenview Blades synchronized skating team was awarded first place Pleasant Prairie competition with their presentation of the movie, “Rio,” on Saturday.

The skaters on the Open Juvenile team are Paige Arvanitis, Peyton Bond, Meghan Blomberg, Gabriela Fuja, Katherine Hinrichs, Caroline Kozaczka, Laura Leifke, Julia Niklewicz, Karin Olson, Caroline Pratt, Lilly Rossi, Kate Shargo, Lily Smith, Marla Tamul and Eileen Wolff.

The team is coached by Maria Scianna and Rebecca Menzynski.

The Beginner One synchronized skating team shook the crowd as they glided on ice to the “Dinosaur” performance landing them first place in the competition.

Team members are Skylar Adler, Alina Bergquist, Mackenzie Bill, Madeline Eccleston, Ines Galiano, Taylor Kolssak, Amanda Lee, Lauren Lee, Francesca Noordover, Maggie Parsons, Dana Thurnell.

This team is coached by Beth Krejnik and Maria Scianna.

In addition, the Preliminary synchronized skating team was awarded second place with their presentation of “The Lion King”.

The skaters on the team are Giuliana Aiello, Rachel Buchanan, Natalie Duncan, Munkhnaran Dechinmijiddorj, Alejandra Galarza, Courtney Hvostik, Alyssa Hjelmgren, Zoe Kaiser, Colleen Paisley, Savanna Paisley, Jacy Robbins, Delaney Rossi and Chloe Schmidt.
