GOP Congressman Condemns Trump Comments And Wasn't Going to Vote For Him Anyway

Illinois 10th District U.S. House Rep. Bob Dold calls recent comments from Donald Trump on women "disgusting" and "sickening."

Republican Illinois 10th District Congressman Bob Dold was among the GOP officials to denounce presidential nominee Donald Trump following the release of a video depicting Trump making vulgar statements against women.

"Women are not objects and should never be treated in this manner - period," said Dold, who is in his second non-consecutive term as congressman in the 10th District and is running for re-election this November against former 10th District Rep. Brad Schneider.

Dold was among the first Republican officeholders to announce he would not support Trump in the 2016 presidential election.

"I strongly, loudly and repeatedly denounced Donald Trump's candidacy in 2015 because of this sickening, disgusting and inexcusable behavior," he said.

Last week, the video that released featured Trump bragging about how he would hit on married women and advocating a form of sexual assault.

Dold first announced he wouldn't support Trump last December, long before the East Coast businessman secured the Republican nomination. Dold cited Trump's controversial comments about U.S. Senator John McCain and other Prisoners Of War as a major reason he would not be on board.
