Hobby Lobby Coming to Deerfield
Store expected to spearhead development, increase sales tax revenue for village.

Deerfield is getting a Hobby Lobby store.
The Chicago Tribune reports trustees there accepted a recommendation to approve plans for the store to open in the Deerbrook Shopping Center at the corner of Waukegean and Lake Cook Roads. The final vote on the plan for the 51,000-square-foot facility is expected to take place in March.
Officials locally hope the addition of the store could help spearhead more development in the mall, which has had several vacancies over the last few years. A boost in sales tax revenue is also expected, as long as the store makes $5 million to $6 million in sales a year.
