Hot Dog Joint Opening in Deerfield Square
Josh's on the Square plans January opening at former site of Tom & Eddie's.

A new place for hot dogs in Deerfield with open in January when Josh’s on the Square opens in former Tom & Eddie’s location in the southwest section of the Shops at Deerfield Square shopping center.
Deerfield native Josh Kaplan always had a dream to open up a hot dog restaurant in his hometown, according to the Deerfield Review. And four years after his first restaurant - Josh’s Hot Dogs in Northbrook - broke ground, he will have a chance to fully live out his dream.
While not opening for a couple more months, Josh’s has already begun catering some lunches at Deerfield schools as well as Deerfield High School’s homecoming dance. But beginning in 2016, he wants his spot to be “the cool place kids want to go” after school or a game. The restaurant will be open late following DHS home football and basketball games.

“Maybe we’ll have a DJ in, put some music on. I want it to scream community,” said Kaplan, a 1992 graduate of DHS.
