House Small Business Committee Comes To Deerfield
A bipartisan congressional field hearing on "bridging the entrepreneurial gap" is set for Monday at Deerfield Village Hall.

DEERFIELD, IL — Local small business owners will testify about overcoming challenges facing small businesses when a pair of members of Congress from Illinois and Iowa hold a bipartisan Small Business Committee hearing in the 10th District. Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Deerfield) and Rep. Rod Blum (R-Dubuque), invited constituents and local small business owners to a bipartisan field hearing on the topic of "Bridging the Entrepreneurial Gap: Addressing Barriers to Small Business Formation and Growth."
The U.S. House of Representatives' Small Business Committee wants to hear first-hand from local entrepreneurs to learn about the current challenges to entrepreneurship that small business owners face and how Congress can help them overcome these barriers.
The field hearing will take a look at federal regulations currently inhibiting entrepreneurs, give members of the a chance to learn more about present barriers to entrepreneurship and examine "potential solutions to these challenges and methods utilized by entrepreneurs to achieve prosperity, such as capitalizing on emerging industries and fostering innovation," according to the committee. In an announcement of the event, Rep. Schneider's office said creating an environment where businesses can succeed and create jobs is one of his priorities.
