Man Buys Stolen Car Off Facebook Marketplace: Riverwoods PD Blotter
Police had pulled the car over for speeding when they discovered the car had been stolen out of Chicago.
RIVERWOODS, IL — The following information comes from the Riverwoods Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Wayne M. Frazier, Jr., 28, of the 2600 block of W. Gladys Avenue, Chicago, was pulled over for speeding at 6:46 a.m. March 3, near Lake Cook and Portwine roads. He was found to have an active warrant out of Wheeling for strong-armed robbery, along with an undetermined warrant out of Chicago. Wheeling police responded to the site of the traffic stop and took custody of Frazier for the warrant.

Eugune S. Kantarovich, 40, of the 400 block of Muirfield Lane, Riverwoods, is accused of theft, and was arrested on March 4. A resident had alerted police that a known neighbor was removing and opening their mail from their mailbox. Kantarovich was a located a short distance away. A field investigation determined that he had opened and photographed mail belonging to the victim. Kantarovich is due in court March 28. Kantarovich is due to appear at the Lake
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Andra Monica Voicu, 35, of the 700 block of North Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights, is accused of speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 11:17 p.m. Feb. 9, near Lake Cook and Portwine roads. She was released and was assigned a court date of March 13.

STOLEN VEHICLE
Police stopped a vehicle for speeding at 1:59 p.m. March 3, near Lake Cook and Portwine roads. An inquiry into the vehicle identification number revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen by Chicago police. A roadside investigation determined that the driver, after seeing the vehicle for sale on Facebook Marketplace, had unknowingly purchased the stolen vehicle from a person who had utilized a false identity to obtain a fake title. The vehicle was recovered for its rightful owner and no charges were filed against the driver.
