Mariano's Plans Bannockburn Opening
Grocer wants to open new spot near Waukegan and Half Day roads.

BANNOCKBURN, IL - The village of Bannockburn could soon see its own Mariano’s grocery store.
Once approvals are met, the grocer will open near the northeast corner of Waukegan and Half Day roads near Beeson’s Nursery.
James Hyland, the vice president for corporate communications and public affairs for Roundy’s, Mariano’s parent company, confirmed the plans in an email to the Deerfield Review.

“We are still in the process of going for municipal approval which I’m told will take place sometime in the spring,” Hyland wrote. “Once all approvals are in place and we receive our building permit, we will set a groundbreaking date.”
Tom Beeson, owner of Beeson’s Nursery, said he’s been talking to Mariano’s about the location for more than three years. Bannockburn is expected to annex the land, which currently sits in unincorporated Lake County.
