Michigan Man Nabbed On Homicide Warrant: Lake County Sheriff's Blotter

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The following information comes from the Lake County Sheriff's Office and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

ARRESTS

BATTERY

• Luis M. Rojas, 28, of the 1400 block of Elizabeth Avenue, North Chicago, is accused of battery, and was arrested Sept. 25 at the Lake County Jail. He was being held on other charges. A court date of Oct. 5 was assigned.
• Juan M. Aguirre-Cobos, 25, of Cambern, California, is accused of battery, and was arrested Sept. 25 at the Lake County Jail. He was being held on other charges. A court date of Oct. 3 was assigned.
• Allen V. Jefferson, 23, of the 1800 block of Morrow Avenue, North Chicago, is accused of battery, and was arrested Sept. 25 at the Lake County Jail. He was being held on other charges. A court date of Oct. 4 was assigned.
• Brandon M. Connor, 22, of the 800 block of Swan Lake, unincorporated Deerfield, is accused of battery, and was arrested Sept. 25 at the Lake County Jail. He was being held on other charges. A court date of Nov. 15 was assigned.
• Johnathan Skroko, 26, of the 600 block of Field Crest Drive, South Elgin, is accused of battery, and was arrested Sept. 26 at the Lake County Jail. He was being held on other charges. A court date of Oct. 4 was assigned.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

• A 20-year-old Vernon Hills resident is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested Sept. 25 at Old Peterson Road and Route 21, Libertyville. A court date of Nov. 8 was assigned.
• Dushae L. Nesbitt, 42, of the 3200 block of Enoch Avenue, Zion, is accused of aggravated DUI, aggravated fleeing/eluding, reckless driving, driving while license revoked, open transportation of alcohol, and was arrested Sept. 27 at Routes 120 and 45, Grayslake. A court date of Oct. 23 was assigned.
• Jose A. Ramirez-Acosta, 21, of the 400 block of S. Lake Terrace, Mundelein, is accused of aggravated DUI, aggravated DUI resulting in great bodily harm, reckless driving, no driver's license, and was arrested Sept. 27 in the 26100 block of N. Diamond Lake Road, unincorporated Mundelein. Following the arrest, he was detained at the Lake County Jail and was assigned a court date of Oct. 16.
• Jennifer Rachel Fox, 28, of the 200 block of Hickory Lane, Antioch, is accused of DUI alcohol, no insurance, and was arrested Sept. 28 at Route 59 and Grass Lake Road, unincorporated Antioch. A court date of Nov. 8 was assigned.
• Javier Jimenez, 34, of the 4900 block of W. School Street, Chicago, had a warrant out of Cook County for DUI, and was arrested Sept. 29 in the 20400 block of Milwaukee Avenue, unincorporated Buffalo Grove. A future court date in Cook County was to be determined at the time of the report.

RESISTING A PEACE OFFICER

Jose G. Placencia Maldonado, 42, of the 1900 block of N. Hicks Road, Palatine, is accused of resisting a peace officer, driving while license suspended, no insurance, resisting a peace officer, and was arrested Sept. 25 at Route 12 and Deer Park Boulevard, Deer Park.

Tarek A. Shakir El, 65, of the 1800 block of Belvidere Road, Grayslake, is accused of no registration, no insurance, resisting a peace officer, obstructing identification, and was arrested Oct. 1 at Route 45 and Washington Street, Third Lake. A court date of Oct. 18 was assigned.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

• Scott D. Hernandez, 38, of the 3100 block of 21st Street, North Chicago, is accused of criminal damage to property, and was arrested Sept. 26 at Lake County Jail. He was being held on other charges and was assigned as a court date of Oct. 17 was assigned.
• Steven L. Vanderbilt, 54, of the 24700 block of Petite Lake Road, unincorporated Lake Villa, had a warrant out of DuPage County for criminal damage to property, and was arrested Sept. 26 in the 24700 block of Petite Lake Road, unincorporated Lake Villa. A court date in DuPage County was to be determined at the time of the report.

THEFT

Alexandra M. Krol, 25, of the 27100 block of W. Park Avenue, unincorporated Antioch, had a warrant for theft, and was arrested Sept. 26 in the 27100 block of W. Park Avenue, unincorporated Antioch. A court date of Oct. 26 was assigned.

CRIMINAL SEXUAL ASSAULT

Jin Huang, 54, of San Diego, California, is accused of criminal sexual assault, and was arrested Sept. 27 in the 3600 block of Crestview Drive, Long Grove. Following his arrest, he was detained at the Lake County Jail and was assigned a court date of Oct. 26.

STALKING

Rickey Scott, 55, of the 29000 block of N. Sheridan Road, Beach Park, had a warrant out of Kenosha County, Wisconsin, for stalking, and was arrested Sept. 28, in the 39000 block of N. Sheridan Road, Beach Park. A future court date in Kenosha County was to be determined at the time of the report.

VIOLATION OF A COURT ORDER

Lloyd M. Tyra, 59, of the 10300 block of Ford Avenue, Beach Park, had a warrant for violation of a court order, and was arrested Sept. 28 in the 10300 block of Ford Avenue, Beach Park. A court date of Oct. 13 was assigned.

HOMICIDE

John W. Powell, 41, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, had a warrant out of North Kalamazoo, Michigan, for homicide, and was arrested Sept. 29 in the 0-100 block of County Street, Waukegan. Following his arrest, he was detained at the Lake County Jail and a future court date in North Kalamazoo, Michigan, was to be determined at the time of the report.

ASSAULT

Dale A. Dixon, 26, of the 10500 block of Route 47, Hebron, is accused of assault, and was arrested Sept. 30 int he 26400 block of W. Michigan Boulevard, unincorporated Antioch A court date of Oct. 25 was assigned.

SPEEDING

Salvador Brizuela, 35, of the 1700 block of Golf Road, Waukegan, is accused of aggravated speeding (90 mph in a 55 mph zone), driving while license revoked, and was arrested Sept. 30 at Routes 12 and 20, Lakemoor.
