Multiple Ruse Burglaries Reported In Same Neighborhood: Blotter
The ruse burglaries occurred on the same day: Riverwoods Blotter.

RIVERWOODS, IL — The following information comes from the Riverwoods Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

ARRESTS
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
- Christopher John Viveiros, 43, of the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road, Deerfield, is accused of speeding, improper lane usage, driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 2:02 a.m. Oct. 19, at Lake Cook and Saunders roads. He was released on a $3,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Nov. 17.
- Jesus Parra Tafoya, 47, of the 300 block of Prairie Avenue, Highwood, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, improper lane usage, driving while license suspended, and was arrested at 11:44 p.m. Oct. 9, near Lake Cook and Portwine roads. He was released on a $3,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 10.
- Alvin M. Alvarez, 55, of Parkway North, Deerfield, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, and was arrested at 2:18 a.m. Oct. 4 near Lake Cook and Portwine roads. He was released on a $3,000 bond and assigned a court date of Oct. 27.

- Francisco Dominguez, 31, of the 200 block of Westerfield Place, Grayslake, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 4:11 a.m. Sept. 25, after being found passed out behind the wheel at Lake Cook road and Discover Way. He was released on a $3,000 bond and assigned a court date of Oct. 27.
- Lori K. Wallace, 43, of the 6500 block of 179th Street, Tinley Park, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, open transportation of alcohol, and was arrested at 3:39 a.m. Sept. 27, near Lake Cook and Portwine roads. She was released on a $3,00o bond and assigned a court date of Oct. 27.

RUSE BURGLARY

- Police responded at 4:44 p.m. Oct. 10, to a ruse burglary that had occurred 20 minutes earlier in the 0-100 block of Chicory Lane. The suspect was described as a male, who rang the doorbell and proceeded to distract the senior resident by telling the resident they were there to trim the neighbor’s trees and needed to discuss property issues. While the resident was being distracted outside, other people made entry to the home, rummaged through drawers in the master bedroom closet and attempted unsuccessfully to pry a safe out of a wall. An assessment of what was taken is underway.
- Police responded at 11:42 p.m. Oct. 11, in the same neighborhood as the item above for a delayed report of a ruse burglary in the 0-100 block of Columbine Lane. The resident reported that at 4 p.m. Oct. 10, a similarly described subject attempted to lure her and her husband of out their residence to speak to them about recent driveway seal coating. The subject was turned away without incident.
