Round Lake Beach Gun, Drug Bust Made: Lake County Sheriff's Blotter

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The following information comes from the Lake County Sheriff's Office and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. ARRESTS

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Anthony Rivera, 37, of the 4300 block of McClure Avenue, Gurnee, had a warrant for possession of a controlled substance, and was arrested Dec. 23 at 17th Street and N. Lewis Avenue, Zion. He was being detained at the Lake County Jail at the time of the report. A court date of Jan. 3, 2025 was assigned.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

• Rick Vazquez, 28, of the 1100 block of Laurel Lane, Gurnee, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, no insurance, and was arrested Dec. 23 at Sheridan and Yorkhouse roads, Beach Park. He was released and assigned a court date of Feb. 5, 2025.
• Christie Kelly, 50, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, is accused of DUI alcohol, no driver's license, no insurance, and was arrested Dec. 24 in the 37200 block of N. Grandwood Drive, unincorporated Gurnee. She was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 22, 2025.
• Rodrigo Perfecto, 20, of the 2900 block of N. New England Avenue, Chicago, is accused of DUI drugs, suspended registration, no insurance, and was arrested Dec. 27 at Route 41 and Casamir Pulaski Drive, North Chicago. He was released and assigned a court date of Feb. 27, 2025.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED

• Jose Y. Zambrano, 25, of the 2600 block of S. Calumet Street, Chicago, had a warrant out of DuPage County for driving while license suspended, and was arrested Dec. 25 at Midlothian and Countryside drives, unincorporated Mundelein. He was released and assigned a court date of Feb. 7, 2025.
• Douglas D. Harris, 48, of the 1500 block of Victoria Avenue, North Chicago, is accused of driving while license revoked, suspended registration, warrant for driving while license revoked out of Douglas County, and was arrested Dec. 28 at Lewis Avenue and Richard Place, Beach Park. He was released and a future court date in Douglas County was to be determined at the time of the report.
• Roger T. Smith, 42, of the 100 block of Devlin Drive, Ingleside, had a warrant out of McHenry County for driving while license suspended, and was arrested Dec. 29 at Gilmer Road and Harmony Drive, Volo. A future court date in McHenry County was to be determined at the time of the report.

VIOLATING AN ORDER OF PROTECTION

• Elicia M. Elias, 36, of the 2700 block of Hartigan Road, Volo, had a warrant for violating an order of protection, and was arrested Dec. 25 in the 2700 block of Hartigan Road, Volo. A future court date in DuPage County was to be determined at the time of the report.
• Jakira A. Burden, 23, of the 35600 block of N. Ward Lane, Ingleside, had a warrant for violating an order of protection, and was arrested Dec. 26 in the 35600 block of N. Ward Lane. Ingleside. Burden was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 23, 2025.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM

Jovanni D. Sanchez, 18, of the 2400 block of N. Orchard Lane, Round Lake Beach, is accused of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and was arrested Dec. 27 at Country Walk Drive and Pheasant Ridge Court, Round Lake Beach. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 23, 2025.

BATTERY

Jason I. Anderson, 50, of the 1850 block of W. Main Street, unincorporated Grayslake, is accused of battery and was arrested Dec. 28 in the 18500 block of W. Gages Lake Road, unincorporated Grayslake. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 22, 2025.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO RESIDENCE

Brett T. Opitz, 33, of the 1200 block of Groh Court, Palatine, is accused of criminal trespass to residence, criminal trespass to vehicle, and was arrested Dec. 29 in the 26300 block of N. Acorn Lane, unincorporated Mundelein. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 15, 2025.

RETAIL THEFT

Nardish Shacora, 25, of the 2600 block of Marigold Drive, Sauk Village, had a warrant out of Will County for retail theft, and was arrested Dec. 29 at Green Bay Road and Grand Avenue, Waukegan. A future court date in Will County was to be determined at the time of the report.
