The Riverwoods Caucus Party Nominating Committee (NomCom) is seeking candidates for Mayor, three Trustees, and Village Clerk to be elected to the Riverwoods Village Board in advance of the April 2021 election.

The Riverwoods Caucus Party is a state-authorized and regulated candidate selection process designed to seek out, select and support individuals who agree to run for and, if elected, serve in positions on the village government.

A candidate must fulfill the following requirements:
- Be U.S. citizen and a Riverwoods resident
- Reside in Riverwoods at least one year prior to the election date
- Be registered to vote in Riverwoods
- Be current with all municipal taxes
- Not a convicted felon

Who selects the candidates?
The Caucus Party NomCom, comprising Riverwoods residents, selects candidates for Riverwoods residents to elect.
What is the process and when is the election?
Riverwoods residents who are registered to vote may submit a completed application and questionnaire by Oct 26. The NomCom will then evaluate the applications to ensure criteria are met before candidates are interviewed by the NomCom on Nov. 14, 2020 at a meeting that is open to Riverwoods residents. This meeting will be held at the Riverwoods Village Hall, 300 Portwine Road, or virtually depending on public distancing requirements at the time.
Following the interviews, the NomCom will nominate candidates for each of the open positions at a closed meeting. On Dec.7 at a public Caucus Town Meeting, Riverwoods residents in attendance vote to elect the slate for the April 2021 Illinois election.
