Stevenson Football Coach Resigns
Bill McNamara had a highly successful 7-year stint that included a state championship with the Patriots in 2014.

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL - Stevenson High School head varsity football coach Bill McNamara has stepped down after a successful seven years on the job, according to a Pioneer Press report.
McNamara led the Patriots to the Class 8A state championship in 2014 and amassed a 67-16 overall record during his tenure that began in 2010. This year, the Patriots won the North Suburban Conference title with an 8-2 record.
“Bill has made the decision to stay in the football program but coach at a different level other than varsity,” Athletic Director Trish Betthauser said. “He plans to remain on the football staff."

McNamara is expected to remain on the football coaching staff, but in which capacity remains unclear.
