Strangulation Among Charges For Man: Lake County Sheriff's Blotter

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The following information comes from the Lake County Sheriff's Office and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. ARRESTS

RETAIL THEFT

Paul R. Caravelli, 40, of the 0-100 block of E. Wood Street, Palatine, had a warrant for retail theft, and was arrested July 18 in the 300 block of Washington Street, Waukegan. Bond was set at $35,000 and a court date of July 28 was assigned.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

• Jacob I. Colon, 24, of the 1100 block of N. Quentin Road, Palatine, is accused of driving under the influence of drugs, and was arrested July 18 at Lake Cook Road and Rue Jardin, Deer Park. Bond was set at $3,000 and a court date of Aug. 10 was assigned.
• Pablo R. Leguizamo-Rea, 51, of the 37500 block of Garnett Avenue, Beach Park, is accused of aggravated driving under the influence, aggravated driving while license revoked, no insurance, and was arrested July 19 at Green Bay Road and Tyler Avenue, Beach Park. Bond was set at $200,000 and a court date of Aug. 12 was assigned.
• Eduardo A. Escobar Avalos, 31, of the 200 block of Walnut Avenue, Wheeling, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested July 22 at Route 41 and Stearns School Road, unincorporated Gurnee. Bond was set at $3,000 and a court date of Aug. 10 was assigned.
• David A. Lopez Tejeda, 27, of the 2200 block of Gustave Avenue, Melrose Park, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license suspended, driving with a suspended registration, no insurance, and was arrested July 23 at I-94 and Route 120, unincorporated Gurnee. Bond was set at $3,000 and a court date of Aug. 31 was assigned.
• Scott M. White, 34, of the 800 block of Hunters Lane, Libertyville, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, open transportation of alcohol, no insurance, and was arrested July 24 at Route 176 and St. Mary's Road, Green Oaks. Bond was set at $3,000 and a court date of Aug. 24 was assigned.
• Yudic Olivares-Rodriguez, 25, of the 2300 block of Waverly Place, Waukegan, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, open transportation of alcohol, and was arrested July 24 at Route 45 and Washington Street, Third Lake. Bond was set at $3,000 and a court date of Aug. 24 was assigned.
• Darwin E. Zeledon-Guevara, 24, of the 900 block of Carriage Way, Elgin, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, no driver's license, and was arrested July 24 at Route 176 and Main Street, Wauconda. Bond was set at $3,000 and a court date of July 9 was assigned.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO PROPERTY

Luiz A. Amezcua-Mora, 42, of the 1300 block of S. Glen Circle, Aurora, had a warrant out of DuPage County for criminal trespass to property, and was arrested July 18 at Routes 53 and 83, Long Grove. Bond was set at $1,000 and a future court date in DuPage County was to be determined at the time of the report.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

• Kevin W. Cartwright, 52, of the 36300 block of N. Route 41, unincorporated Gurnee, is accused of criminal damage to property, fleeing and eluding, and was arrested July 18 in the 38500 block of N. Sheridan Road, Beach Park. Bond was set at $1,500 and a court date of Aug. 10 was assigned.
• Gregory D. Flesher, 59, of the 40900 block of N. Green Bay Road, Beach Park, is accused of criminal damage to property, and was arrested July 19 in the 38400 block of Manor Avenue, Beach Park. Bond was set at $1,500 and a court date of Aug. 8 was assigned.

DOMESTIC BATTERY

• Taige Duffie-Gwinn, 23, of the 2200 block of Linden Lane, Waukegan, had a warrant for domestic battery, and was arrested July 19 in the 300 block of Washington Street, Waukegan. Bond was set at $200,000 and a court date of July 29 was assigned.
• Dario M. Giles, 28, of the 38200 block of N. Sheridan Road, Beach Park, is accused of domestic battery, violation of bail bond, resisting a peace officer, and was arrested July 23 in Beach Park. Bond was set at $50,000 and a court date of July 27 was assigned.
• Paxton Willis, 48, of the 38400 block of N. Primrose Path, unincorporated Spring Grove, is accused of aggravated domestic battery (strangulation), aggravated battery, and was arrested July 24 in unincorporated Spring Grove. Bond was set at $250,000 and a court date of Aug. 17 was assigned.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED

• Jose M. Pedroza Zarinana, 30, of the 1000 block of Glen Rock Road, Waukegan, had a warrant for driving while license revoked, and was arrested July 20 in the 38300 block of Holdridge Avenue, Beach Park. Bond was set at $41,000 and a court date of July 26 was assigned.
• Negron A. Rivera, 24, of the 2200 block of Glen Flora Avenue, Waukegan, is accused of driving while license suspended, no insurance, and was arrested July 20 at Sheridan and Beach roads, Beach Park. Bond was set at $2,000.
• Andrea C. St. John, 22, of the 4000 block of Ridge Road, Zion, is accused of driving while license revoked, and was arrested July 24 at Russell Road and Lewis Avenue, unincorporated Zion. Bond was set at $1,500.

UNLAWFUL USE OF A WEAPON

Pablo F. Cailx-Zelaya, 27, of the 4200 block of Greenleaf Court, Park City, had a warrant for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and was arrested July 20 at Sheridan and Beach roads, Beach Park. Bond was set at $22,000 and a court date of July 28 was assigned.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Gregory Fletcher, 59, of the 2500 block of Elizabeth Avenue, Zion, is accused of disorderly conduct, and was arrested July 22 in the 12700 block of W. 21st Street, unincorporated Zion. Bond was set at $1,500 and a court date of Aug. 22 was assigned.

BATTERY

• Jeremiah A. Smith, 19, of the 38500 block of N. Sheridan Road, Beach Park, is accused of aggravated battery, domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic battery, and was arrested July 22 in Beach Park. Bond was set at $35,000 and a court date of Aug. 23 was assigned.
• Lamisha R. Lee Bertha, 44, of the 2500 block of Gideon Avenue, Zion, is accused of battery, and was arrested July 24 in the 38900 block of N. Green Bay Road, Beach Park. Bond was set at $1,500 and a court date of Aug. 22 was assigned.

OPERATING WATERCRAFT UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL

Elaine F. Cook, 60, of the 8200 block of Kilpatrick Avenue, Skokie, is accused of operating watercraft under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested July 23 at Petite Lake. Bond was set at $3,000 and a court date of Sept. 21 was assigned.

OBSTRUCTING IDENTIFICATION

Reynol Navarrete-Vivero, 42, of the 28200 block of N. Garland Road, unincorporated Wauconda, is accused of obstructing identification, and was arrested July 24 in unincorporated Wauconda. Bond was set at $1,500 and a court date of Aug. 11 was assigned.
