Thanksgiving Traffic Safety Campaign Results Released For Lake County
In addition to 22 citations, a person with a felony warrant was arrested during the campaign, according to Lake County Sheriff's Office.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — Last month's Thanksgiving traffic safety campaign, conducted between Nov. 18-28, resulted in 22 citations and a felony warrant arrest, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
The campaign, part of the "Click It Or Ticket" and "Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over" mobilization, was conducted by the LCSO and other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to reduce highway fatalities.

- 8 citations for failure to wear a seatbelt
- 2 other citations
"Our deputies patrol year-round to keep motorists safe," Sheriff John D. Idleburg said in a news release. "We do this to save lives and ensure all of us make it home safely at the end of the day."
The Thanksgiving enforcement effort is paid for by federal traffic safety funds, which are administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
