'Valentines For Vets' Collects Cards For Those Who Have Served

More than 1,000 cards from schoolchildren and constituents have been distributed over the past two years of the program.

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL — Residents of all ages are encouraged to submit Valentine's Day cards to be distributed to local veterans in the north suburbs. The "Valentines for Vets" program is being hosted by the office of 10th Congressional District Rep. Brad Schneider for the third consecutive year. The initiative launched Monday and cards will be accepted through Friday, Feb. 8.

“Our brave military men and women earn our admiration and gratitude every day. Valentine’s Day gives us the chance to show our appreciation in a special way,” Schneider said. “A card or handwritten note is a great way to give back to those who have given so much for our country.”

Schneider's office said it has collected more than 1,000 cards from schoolchildren and other constituents so far.
