DEERFIELD, IL — In its most recent e-newsletter to residents, the Village of Deerfield is asking residents to continue to stay at home except for necessities. Here are some excerpts from the message that went out Friday.

STAY HOME — SAVE LIVES

If you must go out, remember to take a face covering. Anyone over two years of age and able to medically tolerate a face-covering is required to wear one when in a public place and outdoors and unable to maintain a six-foot social distance.

This includes when:

  • patronizing an essential business
  • working in an essential business
  • taking public transportation or a taxi/ride share
  • working in or visiting an indoor construction site
  • performing professional landscape services
  • in the common areas inside of multi-unit residential, non-residential, and multi-use buildings, including elevators, hallways, multi-purpose rooms, and parking garages.

WASTE MANAGEMENT RESUMES BULK ITEM COLLECTION

Effective May 11, Waste Management will resume the collection of bulky items in Deerfield.

Collection will follow regular schedules and guidelines. Waste Management asks residents with a large number of bulky items to put them out over time to ensure their collection teams can complete all core services each week.

VEHICLE STICKER SALES UNDERWAY

Vehicle stickers go on sale next week. Residents may purchase vehicle stickers on-line, through the mail or in the drop box located in the median just south of Village Hall on Jewett Park Drive.

When paying online, you will enter your information from the vehicle sticker application you received in the mail. You may also register a new vehicle and delete vehicles you no longer own. After submitting payment for your stickers, you will receive them in the mail within 3-5 business days.There is no additional charge for paying online.

The Village will work with residents whose financial situation has changed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. For assistance, call (847) 945-5000.
